Darksiders 2 Coming June, Metro: Last Light Delayed

metrolastlight 525x297 Darksiders 2 Coming June, Metro: Last Light Delayed
THQ’s third-quarter financial earnings report has revealed some juicy pieces of information about Darksiders 2 and Metro Last Light.

First, the good news is that we finally have a release date for Darksiders 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the early 2010 hit. Darksiders 2 promises to bring more of the insane apocalyptic gameplay from the original. Platform Nation’s Scott DiMonda wrote a great first look of the game, here’s a snippet of what he had to say.“Darksiders II: Death Lives shows a lot of promise. Death and I will be a match made in heaven, and it looks like we will be spending some quality time together in the future trying to clear War’s name.”. Check out the rest of Scott’s First Look here.

With this earnings report comes information that Metro: Last Light has been delayed to the first quarter of 2013. This really doesn’t bother me and they can take as much time on this game as they like. The gameplay videos released late last year really impressed me. The graphics engine that Metro uses really makes the lighting effect blossom and look great. Hopefully this delay will give them a little extra time to make the game look even better than it already does.

NEWS: Twisted Metal delayed in Europe until March 2012

It seems that the European release of David Jaffe’s demolition derby racer Twisted Metal will not make its 17th February release date due to fears that the violent content material would outcome in a ratings change in Europe. The game will be released sometime in March.

According to a NeoGAF forum post by Jaffe himself, the developer explained how he was working difficult to make positive the game was palatable for SCEE.

“99 per cent of the cuts had been in the films and the movies are nonetheless intact and I sat with the editor – who was the very same editor of the American motion pictures – and we went by means of and addressed the notes from Europe and made confident the stories nonetheless worked,” Jaffe wrote. “And to be fair, there have not been that a lot of cuts. For instance, in the scene we’ve released on the net from the intro – where the girl stabs Tooth in the eye – the SCEE version has this but we cut away proper before the scissors make contact with Tooth’s face.”

Jaffe admitted the game was much more macabre than it might appear.

“Shooting a dude screaming out the back of an ambulance is pretty stupid and enjoyable and cartoony in a dark, twisted way. Turning a stolen from the morgue CORPSE (into) a missile? A bit a lot more disturbing in some ways…not trying to sell you on it, just thinking outloud (sic),” the developer mused.

Jaffe stated that Twisted Metal was a far larger seller in North America than PAL territories, so it would make a lot more sense to release a single PAL disc rather than tailor the game for many nations.
