EverQuest Going Free to Play… 13 Years After Its Release

everquest thumb EverQuest Going Free to Play… 13 Years After Its Release

Nicely, you’ve completed it. Yes, I’m referring to all of you who put your desire to play EverQuest aside for almost a decade and a half in hopes that the game would a single day be totally free to play. Nicely, beginning on March 16th of this year, your time has come. EverQuest will be entirely totally free.

As is expected, the game will be following the well-known F2P model of having the choices for recurring subscriptions that grant you a whole bunch of content material, the potential to purchase items individually, and, of course, the alternative to not spend something at all.

Lastly, when the game undergoes the transition all players will receive a welcome pack containing items like some experience potions, a summonable mercenary companion, and a decoration to put in your house. The decoration, in all likelihood, will scream “Look how new I am!” at any and all passersby.

So, is cost-free access enough of an incentive to play a game created way back when NSYNC was king? Or is it merely a relic of a past age? I’m referring to EverQuest of course, not NSYNC. They’re timeless.
