Toyota premiered a new function for their “Intelligent Navi” method that can hook up with a Nintendo DS and turn it into a handheld navigation device.

The Japanese car giant unveiled the new system, according to Kotaku, that loosely translates into English as “Use the DS in the Auto.” The Intelligent Navi feature links up the vehicle to a Nintendo DS and turn the portable gaming device into a comprehensive GPS.

The system utilizes Bluetooth to pair the car’s navigation method with a unique game card for the DS. It gives complete maps, details on chosen destinations and driving routes. It even offers a speedometer for the DS to support track your driving time.

Of course, something this cool sounding will not be inexpensive. The highest priced version of the Wise Navi technique will cost just more than $ two,500 in American dollars and the game card that links up the DS to the car’s navigation method alone will run about $ 100. Although this is somewhat disappointing news, and Resdient Evil: Downfall remains just a rumor at this point, at least it is nonetheless possible we’ll see a reveal at E3 2012.
