Soul Calibur V launch trailer

Soul Calibur V is set 17 years immediately after the events of its predecessor, with the primary story arc focusing on Sophitia’s son, Patroklos. Keeping with the series’ tradition of adding guests characters, the game will also feature Ezio Auditore from the Assassin’s Creed franchise as a playable combatant.
I, for one want that Assassin’s Creed hoodie that attributes in the trailer, Im ever so jealous of it. Ubisoft if you are reading this please can I have one? Please?
The game is looking fantastic and I’m sure that Soul Calibur fans will be far from disappointed with the final product if it’s anywhere near as fun to play as that trailer shows.
The game is released in the US tomorrow and in Europe on the 3rd February.
Sony Hopes New Monster Hunter will Boost Vita Sales
![]()
Phillippe Cardon, CEO of PlayStation France, said in an interview with Le Point that he believes the lagging sales of Sony’s PlayStation Vita handheld are most likely due to the absence of titles that would appeal to Japanese audiences.
Cardon specifically cited the lack of a title from the Monster Hunter series as a detractor from sales, and announced that a new title in the franchise would be released in the coming months. “We need to put issues into perspective and stay calm,” Cardon mentioned. “The games readily available at launch in Japan do not correspond to the typology of the Japanese public. It lacks a certain game, Monster Hunter, scheduled for the coming months. Had it been there right out in Japan, the story would have been different.”
At launch, the Vita began robust with 325,000 units sold in Japan in the first few days, but sales dropped significantly to only 43,000 in the third week. The handheld will be released in the United States and Europe on February 22, but Cardon explained for the duration of the interview that he does not have doubts about the handheld’s sales outside of Japan because the launch titles, which includes Uncharted: Golden Abyss, are far more appealing to western audiences. In contrast, Monster Hunter has moderately sized following in the US, but in Japan the series is basically a household name and is likely to be a driving force in the handheld’s sales.
The Nintendo 3DS had similarly slow sales at launch, a trend that appears to indicate a decline in the sales of dedicated handheld consoles. Even so, immediately after Nintendo cut the cost of the 3DS from $ 250 to $ 170 and the library of titles accessible opened up, the 3DS managed to sell more units in eight months than the DS did at launch.
So, rather than the destruction of the complete handheld market, it appears like the slow sales are a symptom of the poor economy, and simply an indicator of gamers are becoming more cautious and waiting to see if titles will make the purchasing handheld worthwhile.
DLC Coming for Super Mario 3D Land?
![]()
Hold on to your wing-caps ladies and gentlemen, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has hinted that paid DLC could soon be heading to Super Mario 3D Land.
Speaking at an investor Q&A session, Iwata explained what Nintendo could do with the not too long ago announced Nintendo Network. It seems the business may be truly trying to catch up with latest gaming trends by providing, “new stages to Super Mario users who want to play the game far more but have completed the game and lost interest in the existing stages.”
Nintendo have offered DLC just before in the form of weekly puzzles for Professor Layton, costumes in Animal Crossing and ghost data in Mario Kart, but this would mark the initial time for important post-launch content material.
Fingers crossed they add some seriously bling horse armor for Epona in the subsequent 3DS Zelda title.

3G PS Vita Preorders Got a Little More Attractive

Sony packs in a few far more goodies for PS Vita early adopters of the connected model.
It looks like Sony’s not leaving anything to opportunity when it comes to the pricier models of the Playstation Vita hardware, announcing a new preorder supply for the normal 3G version of the program as nicely as the First Edition package.
If you’ll recall, the normal 3G unit retails for $ 300, and with the new preorder deal, this will contain an 8 GB memory card, a 30-day, 250MB AT&T DataConnect Pass and a Playstation Network game. The memory card is an specially good touch given that despite the fact that several games can actually be saved their cart, greater-end titles like Uncharted: Golden Abyss will need Sony’s proprietary memory card for game saves and the inevitable DLC. As for the data program, consider it like the ubiquitous Xbox Live 30-day free trials which gently straightforward you into paying to play online. All told, the bundle will save you about $ 60. Maintain in thoughts although, when activated, the Data Pass will auto-renew every month at $ 15 unless you cancel it.
The 1st Edition bundle gets slightly beefed up as well, commonly retailing for $ 350, this limited edition will not only contain the previously announced 4 GB memory stick, but the Data Pass and PSN game, all of it arriving on February 15th, a complete week ahead of the wider PS Vita launch. This is all in addition to a limited edition case and a copy of the game Small Deviants.
The only disappointing spot is a lack of adore for gamers who pick up the regular, WiFi-only which runs for $ 250. It might have been a great notion for Sony to add tiered incentives across the board for the eager first buyers. We’ll see how it all shakes out when the Vita launches on February 22nd.
