NEWS: Twisted Metal delayed in Europe until March 2012
According to a NeoGAF forum post by Jaffe himself, the developer explained how he was working difficult to make positive the game was palatable for SCEE.
â99 per cent of the cuts had been in the films and the movies are nonetheless intact and I sat with the editor â who was the very same editor of the American motion pictures â and we went by means of and addressed the notes from Europe and made confident the stories nonetheless worked,â Jaffe wrote. âAnd to be fair, there have not been that a lot of cuts. For instance, in the scene weâve released on the net from the intro â where the girl stabs Tooth in the eye â the SCEE version has this but we cut away proper before the scissors make contact with Toothâs face.”
Jaffe admitted the game was much more macabre than it might appear.
“Shooting a dude screaming out the back of an ambulance is pretty stupid and enjoyable and cartoony in a dark, twisted way. Turning a stolen from the morgue CORPSE (into) a missile? A bit a lot more disturbing in some waysâ¦not trying to sell you on it, just thinking outloud (sic),â the developer mused.
Jaffe stated that Twisted Metal was a far larger seller in North America than PAL territories, so it would make a lot more sense to release a single PAL disc rather than tailor the game for many nations.

Hey- a few things:
1- I DO NOT think it’s region locked. In fact, if it is, that’s brand new cause I remember thinking, ‘No way we can do ranked games all over the world cause of lag’ and our amazing net coder was like, ‘nope, should be ok’….so I don’t THINK that’s true. In fact, until you guys mentioned it, it never would have occurred to me that we would be region locked cause as of yesterday, we were not. But again, I only found out yesterday we’re slipping in Europe so if you’ve got a link, send it. Otherwise, worldwide game still on!

Soul Calibur V is set 17 years immediately after the events of its predecessor, with the primary story arc focusing on Sophitia’s son, Patroklos. Keeping with the series’ tradition of adding guests characters, the game will also feature Ezio Auditore from the Assassin’s Creed franchise as a playable combatant.
I, for one want that Assassin’s Creed hoodie that attributes in the trailer, Im ever so jealous of it. Ubisoft if you are reading this please can I have one? Please?
The game is looking fantastic and I’m sure that Soul Calibur fans will be far from disappointed with the final product if it’s anywhere near as fun to play as that trailer shows.
The game is released in the US tomorrow and in Europe on the 3rd February.
