Nintendo to go Day and Date With Digital and Retail Sales

New Super Mario Bros. 2 kicks off the Huge N’s embracing of significant digital releases.
During a recent presentation to investors, Nintendo’s president and CEO Satoru Iwata announced that the publisher would be making a push towards releasing boxed versions of games alongside their digital counterparts. A project codenamed “Onitore” will be element of this push, with New Super Mario Bros. for the 3DS.
Games will download straight to your SD card from the Nintendo eShop, or you can buy 16-digit download codes from retailers. Iwata acknowledges that the eShop nonetheless isn’t the optimal buying experience for gamers but says that Nintendo is operating on it.
