Ubisoft announces, shows Outland

Ubisoft has formally announced the download-only Outland it teased earlier in the week.

As seen from the shots below, the side-scroller features quite the eye-catching visual style and makes the game’s on-the-brink-of-destruction world look rather inviting. Other than that though, and that it’s being developed by Housemarque of Super Stardust HD fame, details are slim.

It’s expected early next year on both Xbox Live Arcade and PSN.

Ghost of Sparta, Warhawk demos for PS Plus subscribers

That per year PlayStation Plus subscription is about to start paying off; an early access demo of Kratos’ latest killing spree, the Ready at Dawn-developed God of War: Ghost of Sparta, will next week be made available to Plus subscribers and Plus subscribers alone.

No word on what to specifically expect but blood and guts all over the floor is our bet.

Next week will also see the release of a full game trial for Warhawk, just in case there’s someone out there is interested in acquiring a 3-year-old multiplayer-only shooter. You never know.

Activision has dated its Gaijin-developed chopper sim Apache: Air Assault for November 9th, 2010, the publisher’s announced.

The date — flown in by the fresh batch of screens viewable above and below — goes for North America only, but chances are the European version will be hot on its tail with the customary Friday release (Nov. 12th).
