Lords of Shadow Producer Working on Two Unannounced Projects

You all bear in mind David Cox, yes? The man at Mercury Steam who spearheaded a 3D Castlevania game that was so solid even Hideo Kojima got on board?
Nicely, Coxy has been very busy and according to his twitter feed, he’s working on not one, but two new projects

I noticed his tweet at my buddy Dave from NowGamer and replied thusly:

Warner Bros. Interactive Publishing Lollipop Chainsaw in the West

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s London office released a statement these days announcing that they will act as the publisher for Lollipop Chainsaw in all non-Asian territories. The action title from Grasshopper Manufacture is described as “the ‘un-deadly’ story of sweet and killer zombie hunter Juliet Starling and her quest to uncover the root of a colossal zombie outbreak.”
This sort of scenario is believed to be surprisingly frequent in the head of the wildly perverted creative lead designer, Goichi Suda (Suda51). In no way faulted for playing it safe or following the norm, Suda-san previously brought us No A lot more Heroes and Shadows of the Damned. Warner is also using their Hollywood connections to bring James Gunn (Super, Slither, Dawn of the Dead, Tromeo and Juliet) on board to inject humor and “edgy” storytelling to the game. Regardless of whether or not a Suda51 game known as Lollipop Chainsaw required any more edginess is debatable, but the game looks to be a hell of an fascinating ride.
Jail-bate protagonist Starling will make use of her “wickedly awesome chainsaw” to annihilate each zombie in her path in an unnecessarily awesome and violent manner. And that’s when issues get weird. As soon as she’s chainsawed her way to the center of the infestation, Juliet will discover “a festival of zombie rock lords determined to kill the chainsaw wielding cheerleader.” That’s an actual quote from the press release, men and women we’re not smart sufficient to fabricate such unbridled insanity.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Simon Belmont concept video

What would Simon Belmont appear like in a Castlevania subsequent-gen game? Konami provides a peek at what could have been the case in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. In Konami’s Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, players are cast as vampire hunter Gabriel Belmont. But before there was Gabriel, the developers considered employing Simon Belmont as a lead character. Don’t miss the early concept design video, posted here on the official Konami Castlevania Facebook page, which gives a brief glimpse of the well-liked Castlevania character. The character style looks fairly comparable to Altair of Assassin’s Creed. Possibly that could have been some thing that contributed to the style alter to Gabriel Belmont and his prominently red created clothing.
Details from Konami:
“The new video shows the early style of a young Simon Belmont in action entering Dracula’s castle to exterminate attacking ghouls throughout an early conceptual phase of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, in which the character was regarded as to be a component of the game. Unknown to fans, this early concept video was in no way released as the lead character in the game ultimately became Gabriel Belmont, a new protagonist that created his debut in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.”
Not certain why Konami is teasing this now, but could it be a hint of some thing to come next week at Comic-Con? Konami also noted that Castlevania: Lords of Shadows recently took 6 Gamelab Conference awards in Barcelona, such as “Best Game.” Good to hear, due to the fact it was a game that didn’t get nearly the attention it deserved in other regions.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is offered for the PlayStation three and Xbox 360, along with two downloadable chapters that add a lot more to the story of Gabriel Belmont.
