Mysterious third-person shooter NANO detailed
Ever hear of a third-person action title named NANO? Yeah, neither have we. Until now.
Reader EGGY Beggy sent us details from a recent online survey he took which detailed the Xbox 360, PlayStation, and PC title. The year is 2044, and NANO follows the story of Hugo Ross, a wealthy man who uses his riches to travel and explore the world. After defending a village in Thailand against corruption, Ross finds himself in jail, and he eventually finds himself wrapped in a “corporate conspiracy,” and accused of the murder of his family. You know, the usual.
The game’s hook is its use of tiny “Nanobots,” which the player can use to get inside human bodies to discover clues or hack into electronics to retrieve info, hack security systems, or remotely control a vehicle. The Nanobots can also be used to “brainjack” hosts, which can be used to upgrade Ross’ abilities. Additionally, in what sounds like an odd twist on Trauma Center, you’ll be able to use the nanobots to heal someone, investigate wounds, and even “save a fetus under attack.”
While no details on the game’s publisher or developer are found within the description, it should be noted that Square Enix filed two possibly-related trademarks in Europe earlier this year for Mindjack and Mindhack (via Siliconera). Just yesterday, a video of a mysterious title (possibly titled NERKAS, pictured above) appeared online; it had then been discovered that Square Enix Europe is the owner of NERKAS.com. In the video, we see a third-person action title where players seemingly “hijack” the brains and bodies of others, possibly through the use of a strange headset.
Are all three of these things — NANO, Mindjack/Mindhack, and NERKAS — somehow related? Maybe, maybe not. But with E3 around the corner, we may know more pretty soon. Check the full description of NANO after the jump.
Arriving to the X360, PS3 and PC is NANO, a new action-adventure game that embarks players on a unique journey across the world and the infinitely small yet complex and mysterious universe of the human body.
Set in the year 2044, the player takes on the role of Hugo Glass – a man from a wealthy family but leaves his identity behind to find his purpose in life. Hot tempered and righteous, he travels around the world until he finds himself in jail after defending villagers against corruption in Thailand. When he is released, he finds himself involved in a corporate conspiracy that accuses him of murdering his family. Standing above the corpse of his loved ones with the weapon in hand, Hugo swears revenge against the corporation who manipulated him.
As Hugo, players will experience fast paced action leveraging various weapons and will also control miniscule Nanobots for action gameplay throughout the human body. In a world where Nanotechnology has made the previously unthinkable possible, players will use their Nanobots to investigate the mysterious deaths, battle enemy Nanobots attempting to ‘brainjack’ the host and boost Hugo’s athletic powers.
Hugo will fight fire with fire, embrace the new technologies and transform himself into a ruthless and ingenious spy to find the man responsible for his brainjack and seek revenge for his murdered family.

Multiplayer: As a Nanobot, take on additional missions, alone or with friends. Together, purge a body of all its invading Nanobots. Fight each other and be the first to brainjack the President.
