Kirby’s Epic Yarn trailer is adorable (surprise!)
A new trailer for Kirby’s Epic Yarn was let out recently, showing off some story along with some new gameplay clips. Despite being completely in Japanese, it becomes clear that the notion of “cute, pink, fluffy dude” is very transcendent when it comes to different cultures.
The first 25 seconds or so are all about the story, which is as intense as most Kirby stories have been in the past (in other words, not that intense). It’s all narrated in Japanese, but the storyboard-style presentation makes it all clear: Kirby tries to eat a yarn maximum tomato, angry yarn wizard comes out, Kirby is transported into a sock/yarn dimension–nothing too crazy.
The rest of the video sports gameplay footage, showing off the Yoshi-Story-on-candy-flavored-steroids art style, co-op gameplay, and the variety of forms Kirby can spin himself into. The final moments of the trailer even show a little King Dedede love too, just in case there were any worries regarding returning characters.

NBA Elite 11 Become Legendary “Matchups”
EA Sports has released a new video which goes over the “matchups” element of the Become Legendary career mode. One of the assigned tasks will be to outperform an opposing player and a judgment depending on performance will result in a number of XP points earned or taken away. LucasArts confirms layoffs
LucasArts has thinned its ranks, the company has confirmed. While not specifying the number, sources of Kotaku say an estimated 60 from development and an additional 25 from external production and QA have been let go.
“LucasArts is reorganizing its teams to better address the needs of the internal studio,” said the company in a statement. “Unfortunately, this means adjusting staffing.”
The studio’s latest game, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, reportedly reached ‘gold’ status on Friday. It’s due out later this month on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and iPhone.
The PSP version was recently confirmed to be cancelled.

NBA 2K11 My Player Mode Detailed
2K Sports has released a video and accompanying blog going into further detail on the My Player career mode in NBA 2K11. Throughout the week we’ve learned of press conferences, signature shoes, and trade demands. Now there is even more including character traits such as fan support and chemistry, tweaks to grading, and attribute caps. You can check out the full blog here. Ghost of Sparta, Warhawk demos for PS Plus subscribers
That per year PlayStation Plus subscription is about to start paying off; an early access demo of Kratos’ latest killing spree, the Ready at Dawn-developed God of War: Ghost of Sparta, will next week be made available to Plus subscribers and Plus subscribers alone.
No word on what to specifically expect but blood and guts all over the floor is our bet.
Next week will also see the release of a full game trial for Warhawk, just in case there’s someone out there is interested in acquiring a 3-year-old multiplayer-only shooter. You never know.
