Ghost Recon: Future Soldier does live action

Sharing no expense on promoting the upcoming Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Ubisoft has released a two-minute live action trailer for the shooter, showing the first hints at the equipment and approaches available to the slightly futuristic soldiers.

Mind you, this is not the live action prequel that Oscar winners Francois Alaux and Herve de Crecy are putting together; that is a separate, considerably lengthier project.

Next Half-Life needs to be more scary as per Gabe Newell

half life Next Half Life needs to be more scary as per Gabe Newell

According to Valve boss man Gabe Newell, players should expect to thoroughly soil themselves when the illusive next installment of the Half-Life series arrives.

In a recent interview, Newell discussed how the game needs to get back to the basics of scare tactics. “I feel like we’ve gotten away from genuinely scaring the player more than I’d like,” he said, “and it’s something we need to think about, in addition to broadening the emotional palette we can draw on.”

Hopefully this will translate into ominous and creepy atmosphere and not the Doom 3 imps-popping-out-of-closets trick. And it probably will; when asked what scares them the most Newell responded, “The death of their children. The fading of their own abilities.”
