Microsoft’s E3 ‘unlike any other,’ will hold two press events
Microsoft is holding two pre-E3 press gatherings this year, a ’save the date’ email the company sent out today announces.
The first event, held on June 13, will focus entirely on Project Natal and will, according to director of product management Aaron Greenberg, demonstrate “the universal appeal” of the Xbox 360; a pitch to keep the core audience tuned in, perhaps?
The other event, Microsoft’s annual press conference, will take place on the following morning, on June 14.
“We’re gearing up for a really exciting E3,” Greenberg adds of the company’s plans, “unlike any E3 we’ve ever had before.”
“All options are open,” Bungie says of PS3 development
Bungie remains undecided on whether or not they’ll start developing for the PlayStation 3; After gaining their independence from Microsoft in 2007, the Halo developer has been free to develop for systems other than the Xbox 360 but has so far made no concrete announcements one way or the other.
And they’re not about to start now; “all options are open,” community director Brian Jarrard has once again said.
“In terms of platform, I know these things are all still pending topics in the studio,” he told IndustryGamers. “It hasn’t gotten to the point where we’re unable to do great work and we’re moving forward. Things are definitely coming together though.”
He continued: “We definitely have plans in the works, and I think we’re really close to understanding of what is next and who, what, when, where, that’s all going to land. But we’re not looking at one particular piece of technology right now.”
“All options are open right now,” he added, “so long as we find the best possible fit for our creative vision and what this project is going to be.”
DJ Hero Controller Is Now Sold Separately
Activision has started selling the DJ Hero controller as a standalone peripheral. Priced at $69.99 each, this controller is currently available for Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. The DJ Hero controller features a rotating deck platter, an effects dial, crossfader and three dual-color stream buttons. The crossfader section can be swapped between the left and right sides, for use by left- or right-handed gamers. [Slashgear]

Here’s the first gameplay footage from Infinity Ward’s upcoming Stimulus Map Pack for Modern Warfare 2. This add-on content will include 5 maps, three are new – Bailout, Storm and Salvage, two are classic – Crash and Overgrown.
