Just Cause 2 gets a launch trailer, demo hits 2 million downloads
Just Cause 2’s imminent arrival has spawned a launch trailer for the Avalanche-developed sandbox shooter, offering another quick look at the over-the-top action to be seen in the game.
Publisher Square Enix has also made news of the demo’s popularity; following its release on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network earlier in the month, the demo has racked up an impressive two million downloads.
The game itself is out next week, on March 23 in the US and March 26 in Europe.

Tebow, Haden Perform Well at Pro Day
Probably the most anticipated and scrutinized Pro Day this year was held yesterday for Florida Gators players with names such as Tim Tebow, Joe Haden, Carlos Dunlap, and Aaron Hernandez working out for scouts. Based on reactions out of the workouts the players impressed with the exception of Brandon Spikes.
Unveiling his new throwing motion most reports out of the Pro Day were positive for Tebow. Ultimately it probably didn’t change opinions for teams that didn’t like him to begin with but may have put those who are intrigued at ease. He looked good but no one knows how it will translate in game situations. It is appearing more and more likely that Tebow will be selected somewhere in the second round, possibly the first half of the second round.
Tebow has individual workouts scheduled with Buffalo, Seattle, Cleveland, Washington, and New England. The Seahawks are unlikely to draft a QB now that they traded for Whitehurst, but the other four could take a shot on Tebow. Just as likely some other team, Jaguars or Bengals or a complete surprise, may end up choosing him.
Joe Haden re-established himself as the top corner in the draft by running a 4.41 40. At the combine he ran a 4.60 which had caused his stock to slip, corners without elite speed just aren’t drafted in the top half of the first round. He now can be talked about again as a potential top 10 pick and probably a lock in the top 15. Brandon Spikes on the other hand has taken a hit and is now at best a third rounder with his 5.1 in the 40. Because of his lack of speed he will not be viewed by teams as someone who can stay on the field in all downs and situations.
Codemasters reveal F1 2010’s glamorous career mode
Licensed racer F1 2010 is looking to pump a little glamour into the world of racing games.
Speaking to TVGB at the official F1 2010 reveal in London today, Codemasters’ Communications Manager Andy Gray shared some details on the game’s career mode, and enlightened us on the title’s sexy new direction.
While F1 2010 will feature all the in-car action you would expect, it will also enable you to “Live the Life” of an F1 driver. Now we’re pretty sure you can’t fit a Pussycat Doll into a standard-sized game case, so what exactly does that mean? Gray elaborated for us.
“‘Live the Life’ is everything that happens outside of the car,” he said. “It’s the bits outside the track; the glamour, the girls, the press – all that kind of things that have never really come across in a game before. That’s the aspect we’re trying to really integrate into F1 2010.”
Starting out at a lower or middle ranking team, the career mode will enable you to rise through the sport and enjoy/endure all of the pleasures and pressures that entails. Win a few races and suddenly you’ll be popular, with the media clamoring for your attention. Start struggling, however, and prepare for some awkward questions.
“So that moment where you get out of the car, and you’ve not qualified very well; all of a sudden you have a microphone thrust in your face and you’ll be asked why you didn’t do very well,” said Gray. “The press play a huge part. But you’ve also got your agent and your race engineers – actual characters you speak to in the game, and you have a proper rapport with. That’s what we’re looking to bring to F1 2010.”
