If you feel bored doing exercise, Nintendo Wii Fit is what you are looking for. It has a game concept as exercise. Wii fit uses a unique Wii balanced board that allows software to calculate players or users body mass index and determine user’s height. It has 50 different activities which includes yoga poses, push ups, and some other exercises.
Wii fit really takes a whole new concept of games in the form of exercise. Indeed, Nintendo takes a new level of games as exercise. If you wanted to lose weight, this game might be the one you are looking for.
Interesting exercise from Wii fit is:
- Yoga – yoga posses starts off with simple and easy at first. It teaches right and deep breathing and some light stretches. As you go along, if you reached enough points by keeping balanced in every exercises, you will unlock new yoga posses or number of repititions.
- Strength training – Strength training includes push ups, plank poses, leg lifts, squats, and others that improves your core strength and muscle tone.
- Aerobics – Aerobics exercises includes jogging, hula hoop and rhythm boxing.
Wii fit is really doing something right! This is a new way of losing weight. Actually, it’s not a game, it is an exercise. After 15 – 30 minutes you will surely feel great towards Wii fitness. This game, or shall we say exercise comes on a single disc and a board as mentioned earlier. This balanced board communicates with Wii console wirelessly. Most exercise are short and basic at first. But the as you do more, and the longer time you spend with it, new exercise will be added.

New Lara Croft goes isometric, gets first screens

Everyone’s favourite videogame heroine, Lara Croft, is set to return, though the game will not feature the Tomb Raider name, instead being titled: Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.
The first major change differencing this from Tomb Raider titles is the isometric view. Where previous outings with Ms. Croft had the camera positioned behind her back, in standard third-person fashion, this game chooses to have the camera positioned above the action, looking downwards.
The second is the ability to play the game cooperatively. Fighting alongside Lara throughout the game is Totec, a Mayan tribesman, who wields a spear and shield to overcome traps, zombies and whatever else you encounter.
Gamers will have to wait until summer to get their hands on it, and while no release platforms have been announced yet, I imagine it will be released on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.

Valve to produce games for Macs

We likely won’t hear about this officially until the Game Developers Conference kicks off on Tuesday, but word is that developer Valve will be porting some of its hit games onto Macs in the near future. The speculation is that Portal, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead and Half-Life 2 will all make the transition. Could this mean that the recently revealed Portal 2 goes straight to Macs this holiday season as well? Right now it’s just an Xbox 360 and PC title, but perhaps we’ll here more on this at GDC.
Another issue surrounding this news is the transformation of Macs into gaming platforms. We already know that the iPod and upcoming iPad are eager to become gaming devices. If more developers follow Valve’s lead and produce for Macs, the PC could see its advantage fade away in the eyes of game enthusiasts.
