Most Common Xbox Live Gamertag Categories: Part II

In Part I of the Most Common Xbox Live Gamertag Categories, I touched base with categories that the majority of the Xbox Live community has come in contact with. However, it is important to note that not every category will most be covered and there will always a category that will be harder to define and harder to classify. That being said, here is another list of categories that you can probably relate to:
*Author’s Note: This is meant to poke fun at everyone’s Gamertag. Let’s face it, some of us have really creative names and some of us will sadly be defined by a Gamertag we are probably less than happy with. The important thing is to just enjoy the game.
Clan Tags/MLG Names
I’ve decided to tie-in both clan tag Gamertags as well as MLG Gamertags for one simple reason: Usually, they’re to tell the world you’re an elite gamer and can beat anyone’s ass. Examples of some clan tag Gamertags may include KSI and PMS among others. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with a gaming clan that likes to play together, I’m more concerned about the clans that brag about their so-called skills. What happens when a gamer has over-the-top confidence and the name to prove himself? If you’re not actually a member of the MLG community, don’t trick yourself into thinking you’re superior to everyone else. Chances are, you’re an average player just trying to rile up other gamers into thinking you’re fantastically amazing at what you do, when in fact, you’re anything but MLG status. The fact you have to convince others of your fake status only makes us believe you’re quite insecure about your own abilities.

MAG Releasing New Patch Soon
I had the chance to review the online only shooter, MAG, earlier and gave my impressions. It’s nice that Zipper isn’t slacking on its new title, as they appear to be tweaking things for the better. One of the more noticeable updates will be getting rid of that marker that shows dying teammates who you [...]

No motion control for Final Fantasy XIII, fatigue to blame

We all know that motion controls are all the rage now, at least from the perspective of the hardware makers, and whether we like it or not motion controls are coming to the major platforms. However, not everyone is on board the motion control craze train, at least Final Fantasy XIII producer Yoshinori Kitase isn’t.
“These new type of controllers are very interesting, but we’re not sure that people would like to spend up to 100 hours playing a conventional Final Fantasy title with these type of controllers,” Kitase explained during a recent interview, going on to add that swinging a sword over and over again for hours might prove to be a little tiresome. “It could be too exhausting if you were always swinging a sword around for battles. So we will have to see what the future holds.”
While we’re all in agreement that motion controls might not be suited well for everything, we’re not so sure that it being “too exhausting” is the primary reason. It might simply be too distracting or perhaps it takes away from the gameplay which after all is most important, isn’t it?

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands set for ‘Classic’ bonus

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands may come bundled with Prince of Persia: Classic (pictured), according to a BBFC rating unearthed by Destructoid.
Prince of Persia: Classic is the remake of Jordan Mechner’s original 1989 PoP title. Released via XBLA and PSN in 2007, Classic was warmly received by critics and gamers alike, one of the first downloadable games to add a little HD sheen to an ageing, yet seminal title.
While it is known that Classic will be bonus content for The Forgotten Sands, it is still unknown whether the game will be part of the disc, included on a seperate disc, or available via a download code. What is apparent, however, is that it isn’t just a perk for the special edition. According to the listing, Classic is part of the vanilla The Forgotten Sands release.
Elsewhere, the BBFC listing also reveals that The Forgotten Sands features a healthy 90 minutes worth of cut-scenes.
The game was dated for a May 18 release earlier today.
PS3’s Dragon Age expansion not available at Euro retail

The PlayStation 3 version of Awakening, the upcoming expansion for Dragon Age: Origins, will only be available through digital means in European territories — a decision forced by Sony Europe whose “requirements” make both a PlayStation Network and retail release impossible.
“In Europe and other PAL video/game region countries, the PS3 version is only available as a download,” reads the FAQ section of the expansion’s website.
BioWare’s community facilitator Victor Wachter explains, somewhat, “For the European (as well as all PAL versions) release of Awakening on PS3, we will be releasing it only as download content, due to requirements from Sony. So you will be able to purchase, download and play, but it will not be available at retail.” (Thanks, Jill)
The expansion launches on March 16, worldwide, for $39.99.
